EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT MPS VISIT ARMENIAN GENOCIDE MEMORIAL

YEREVAN. - Members of the delegation from the conservatives'~R and the
reformists' faction of the European Parliament paid a visit Tuesday to
the Armenian Genocide Memorial, which is located in Armenian capital
city Yerevan.
The delegation members placed flowers to the Genocide monument and
paid tribute to the 1.5 million innocent victims of this tragedy.
The European Parliament MPs also toured the Armenian Genocide
Museum-Institute, where head of delegation, Martin Callanan, signed
the guestbook of the museum-institute.
Sharing his impressions with news reporters, Callanan noted as follows:
"Terrible events had occurred. It is important for modern politics
that we learn lessons from what has happened in the past so that such
things do not repeat."
