Police have issued a statement claiming that registration of
residents in the State Register is made exclusively by means defined
by legislation.
"Naira Zohrabyan, an MP from the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK),
has made a statement on the Web and in printed media, that some 8000
residents of Aparan city have been registered in the administrative
district of Ajapnyak so as to take part in the May 5 Council of Elders
election in Yerevan. The above-stated is disinformation and is just
another attempt to misinform the public.
Groundless statements like that have been made for many times due to
electoral processes. Yet none of them has ever been justified. The
below-stated figures also show the vanity of that statement: In the
preliminary list of voters for the Presidential Election published
on January 9, 2013 there were 81.614 voters and in the same list
for the Election of Yerevan Council of Elders published on March 27,
2013 there were 81.751 voters.
The Police have repeatedly said that the registration of citizens in
the State Register is made exclusively by legislative means and by
appropriate bases", reads the message.
