Serzh Sargsyan and his power are gradually weakening. Now his power
is much vulnerable than 5 years ago, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, the first
President of Armenia, Leader of the Armenian National Congress Party,
said at today's rally in Liberty Square in Yerevan.
"Sargsyan will be weakening with every passing day because he has
earned the Armenian society's hatred. The challenges faced by Armenia
have become even tougher and the RPA will soon experience discrepancies
about who will be Sargsyan's successor", he said.
Ter-Petrosyan also pointed out that the re-appointment of Tigran
Sargsyan as prime minister and the nomination of Taron Margaryan for
the post of Yerevan mayor demonstrate that Serzh Sargsyan's political
course has not changed.
He also stressed that the elections to Yerevan Elders' Council will
be the most important event in Armenia within the next 4 years,
because these elections provide an opportunity to launch the process
of dethronement of the ruling regime. Ter-Petrosyan believes that
unlike the RPA, the ANC has a worthy candidate for mayor of Yerevan.
The politician said that during the election campaign the ANC will
fight against the ruling parties and will not criticize the opposition
parties. "We will not hinder unification after the elections to the
Elders' Council or nomination of a joint candidate for mayor", he
said and called on everybody to go to the polling stations on May 5
and give their votes for the Armenian National Congress or any other
opposition party, but not for the ruling RPA.
