Disgrace Continues In Karabakh
Persecution against Vahan Badasyan, hero of the war of Artsakh, War
Cross Chevalier, continues in Karabakh. Recently the NKR Defense Army
has terminated the contract with his bakery which supplied bread to a
military unit.
Everything began after Vahan Badasyan addressed the opposition rally
in Yerevan. After his speech KGB style persecution began. The Union of
Veterans made a statement reprimanding him. Then tax terror began, and
the enterprises which he set up in the liberated territories were
checked for tax avoidance.
Vahan Badasyan's bakery has supplied good and delicious bread to the
military unit for 4 years. The contract was extended in January for
one year. Now it has been terminated. The military unit, like the
other military units, is now supplied the same low quality bread,
causing dissatisfaction of conscripts.
Everything must comply with the `standard', as in all the other
spheres of life in Karabakh which were killed successfully by Bako
Sahakyan's administration. In Karabakh the atmosphere was not so
disgusting and grey even in the Soviet years. The authorities have
killed everything, including the business, and use the state budget to
solve their own personal issues. The recent budget issues in Karabakh
have nothing to do with the size of the interstate loan issued by
Armenia but are the consequences of the abovementioned schemes.
The NKR government implements building projects with `sophisticated'
schemes but nobody can afford to buy the apartments which are
expensive even by Yerevan rates. Or, the prime minister sets up
enterprises on the state budget and later on he takes them over,
announcing that nobody else wants to run them. It happens with the
connivance of the deputy prime minister of NKR Arthur Aghabekyan,
former brother-in-arms with Vahan Badasyan.
The second war in Karabakh is not behind the mountains, and Vahan and
others like him are ready to fight in another war and build the next
strategic victory of Armenia and use the results of this victory in
the economy and politics, not tolerating robbery and fraud. His speech
in Yerevan was about these things and now he is punished because it is
dangerous for the elites in Armenia and Karabakh. Those elites are
accidental people who used the opportunity, and later their
`biographies' were rewritten accordingly.
