EX-GOVERNOR, PA PARTY, IS CHARGED WITH EMBEZZLEMENT
The ex-governor of Vayots Dzor region is prosecuted for misuse of
his official powers and embezzlement. The case is investigated by
the Special Investigative Service.
Embezzlement of millions is concerned. The ex-governor is said to have
collected fake reports on beneficiaries of the diesel fuel subsidy
program in the communities, and no diesel fuel was distributed,
while the money allocated for subsidy has been misappropriated.
Earlier similar conduct had been revealed in the Traffic Police due
to which the ex-chief of traffic police Margar Ohanyan was sentenced
to and is serving a long term of imprisonment.
