Armenia's marriage-divorce ratio worsens

YEREVAN. - The balance between marriages and divorces in Armenia is
getting worse, National Statistical Service official Karine Kuyumjyan
stated during a press conference on Wednesday.
She noted that 4,591 marriages and 897 divorces were registered in the
country in the first quarter of this year.
In line with the 2011 census data, a total of 763,600 households were
registered in Armenia, as compared to 779,400 households in 2001.
Kuyumjyan also informed that the number of marriages in the country
dropped by 1.6 percent, whereas that of the divorces grew by 11.5
percent, as compared to the first quarter of 2012.
