Armenian FM visits UK

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian continues his visit to the
United Kingdom where today he was due to speak at the University of
Oxford on issues of Armenia's foreign policy.
Nalbandian's two-day visit began on Monday as he met with his British
counterpart, Foreign Secretary William Hague.
According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry's press service, during the
meeting the top British diplomat spoke about progress in bilateral
relations between the two countries since Nalbandian's last visit to
the UK two years ago.
Nalbandian and Hague reportedly discussed steps to be taken to boost
political dialogue, cooperation within international agencies as well
as business links between Armenia and Great Britain. The two also
addressed Armenia-European Union relations, with the British foreign
secretary praising progress in the strengthening of cooperation
between Yerevan and Brussels.
Issues of regional concern, including the crisis in Syria,
negotiations around the Iranian nuclear program, the Karabakh conflict
were also discussed during the meeting.
Later in the day FM Nalbandian also met with Speaker of the House of
Lords, Baroness Frances D'Souza. Baroness Caroline Cox, a member of
the House of Lords who chairs the British-Armenian Parliamentary
Friendship Group, also attended the meeting.
