Talks on Nagorno-Karabakh to gain momentum in late 2013 - Azeri FM

    21 May 2013

The Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Elmar Mammedyarov, is looking to
progress in a settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict following
    Azerbaijani elections later this year.

Once we are through with our elections, (with elections in Armenia
already over), we should double, or even triple our efforts to ensure
a breakthrough in a settlement of that involved conflict, which,
however, can be resolved, Mammedyarov told a news briefing in the wake
of his talks with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, in Moscow on
    Tuesday.

According to him, the stalemate at the negotiations, prompted by the
elections in Armenia and Azerbaijan, will be eventually overcome.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said, for his part, that Russia
will continue to help settle the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, including
in its capacity of a Co-Chair of the Minsk Group.
