(EU) and Armenia would continue their close cooperation in different
ways, EU-Armenia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee Co-Chair Milan
Cabrnoch said here Thursday.
The two sides had to find new ways to cooperate, as the Russian-led
Customs Union, which Armenia has agreed to join, was incompatible
with the EU's Association Agreement, Cabrnoch said.
He said the EU would continue supporting Armenia for the development
of democracy, human rights, media freedom and rule of law.
Armenia was scheduled to seal an Association Agreement and a Deep
and Comprehensive Free Trade Area with the EU at a November summit
in Lithuania's Vilnius.
However, the bloc pulled out after Armenian President Serzh Sargsian
announced the country would join the Customs Union in September.
