As part of their visit to the South Caucasus region, the co-chairs
of the OSCE Minsk Group and a personal representative of the
organization's chairman-in-office, Andrzej Kasprzyk, will arrive in
    Yerevan later on Monday.

Earlier reports said that the regional trip is aimed at arranging a
new meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents Serzh Sargsyan
    and Ilham Aliyev.

APA News Agency has quoted the Russian co-chair, Ambassador Igor Popov,
as saying that the Azerbaijani leader has given consent to the plan.

"The co-chairs are leaving for Yerevan today. We will discuss the issue
there with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan. An official statement
will be issued later. We are hopeful that the two presidents' meeting
will take place until the end of this year," he said.

The co-chairs, who arrived in Azerbaijan during the week-end, have
had meetings in Baku and given interviews to Azerbaijani journalist.

According to the Azerbaijani news agency, Mr Kasprzyk has expressed
concerns over the repeated violations of ceasefire on the Line of
Contact. "The ceasefire accord is violated at times, with both sides
issuing notices in that connection. When that happens, I try to check
    the situation," he said,

The diplomat said that his mandate is aimed at reaching confidence
    between the conflicting dies.

Kasprzyk noted that their confidence-building measures have helped
reduce tensions so far. "Decreasing the tension implies less losses and
survivors, and that is and will remain one of my main goals," he said.
