Qahana.am, a church website, posted an article on the harm of rock
music. It states that rock presents danger to morality and values,
especially among young people.
Recently, the representatives of the Armenian Church have been
carrying out an active ideological and moral propaganda, covering
issues ranging from global to every day issues.
For example, attempts are made to define what an Armenian is but the
definitions are uncertain, at least in terms of confession. Recently
a priest has announced than an atheist is not an Armenia so it
follows that the Apostolic churchgoers are Armenians (there were such
statements as well).
There are hundreds of thousands of ethnic Armenians who are not
followers of the Apostolic church and have habits, traditions, views
which may overlap with those of the church. Instead, there may be a
lot of followers of the Armenian church who like rock music.
How about the opinion of the apostolic church on rabis music and
generally rabis culture which is currently dominant in Armenia? For
example, the Armenian criminal oligarchy which is the main donor of
the Church? Rabis culture is not Armenian and is sort of localization
of habits, thinking and views of oriental peoples.
The Apostolic Church aspires to a more global role among Armenians
than just that of the church. With such ambitions the church should
be fractional and understand and tolerate life with its natural
aspirations, diversity and richness, acting adequately to the reality.
The other way is to kill everything, cause reaction and inquisition
with ensuing consequences. Such consequences were many and tragic,
involving the church, ending up in loss of sovereignty and people.
The problem is that the church is following the second path.
