WE ARE INVESTIGATING CAUSES FOR DISCONNECTION OF ARMENIA-IRAN ENERGY SYSTEMS - MINISTRY

YEREVAN. - The Armenian Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources is
investigating the causes for the disengagement between the energy
systems ofArmenia and Iran.
Energy and Natural Resources Minister Armen Movsisyan noted the
abovementioned at the National Assembly on Monday.
The minister recalled that, on November 2 at 10:24am, the energy
system ofArmenia had disengaged from the energy system of Iran.
To note, due this technical reason, there were widespread power
outages throughout Armenia.
But as per the minister, following the disengagement, the energy
defense mechanism, which had switched off the electricity, immediately
went into operation.
"The parameters were already regulated two minutes after the switching
off. We started to gradually increase the power. The [entire] process
took 3.5 hours," he noted.
Armen Movsisyan also informed that a special group is set up to
investigate the causes of this incident and determine the possible
future steps.
