ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT TO PAY AMD 1 MILLION FOR THIRD OR FOURTH BABY BIRTH IN 2014
YEREVAN, November 6. /ARKA/. The amount earmarked by the Armenian
government for families where third or fourth baby is born will grow
in 2014, Gagik Minasyan, head of the National Assembly's finance and
budget committee, told journalists on Wednesday.
"This year the government paid only AMD 430,000 for third and next
baby, while in 2014 it will pay AMD 1 million, and AMD 1.5 million
is intended for fifth and next babies," he said.
Of this amount, AMD 500,000 will be given to the family immediately
after their baby's birth, and the remaining amount will be kept
on the family account for healthcare, education and improvement of
housing conditions.
Minasyan also said that social spending is planned to be increased
by 18% in 2014.
In the 2014 draft budget, over AMD 362 billion is allocated for social
security against AMD 304.6 billion in the 2013 government budget.
In the 2014 consolidated government budget, revenue is projected at
AMD 1 trillion 134 billion, spending at 1 trillion 244 billion and
deficit at AMD 110 billion.
GDP growth is projected at 5.2% and a 12-month inflation rate at 4%
