Armenian Catholicos Karekin II ws unanimously approved as the head
of the World Council of Churches for 8 years at the 10th General
Assembly of the organization in Busan, Tert.am reports.
The Council includes about 350 Christian churches from over 100
countries. Its presidium consists of 8 members. The World Council of
Churches encourages relations between churches, enforces protection
of human rights, justice and peace.
