ARMENIAN MINISTER OF EDUCATION DISCUSSES OPENING OF BRANCH CAMPUS OF MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY IN YEREVAN WITH SADOVNICHIY
YEREVAN, November 8. /ARKA/. Armenia's minister of education and
science Armen Ashotyan discussed issues related to the final stage of
opening an international branch campus of the Moscow State University
in Yerevan with the rector of the University academician Victor
Sadovnichiy in Moscow.
The sides discussed the branch campus prospects and said it will help
strengthen educational and scientific ties between the two countries
and make the two societies closer to each other.
The minister briefed Sadovnichiy on educational and scientific reforms
in Armenia, according to the press office of the ministry.
Academician Sadovnichiy confirmed wish to cooperate with Armenia
in scientific and educational field and stressed the Moscow State
University is ready to arrange the higher education in line with bets
international practice, according to the report..
After his negotiations with Armenia's president Serzh Sargsyan on
September 3 Russia's Putin said an initiative is under way to set
up a Russian gymnasium and an international branch campus of the
Moscow State University in Yerevan. He mentioned the two countries
have already had successful experience of cooperation in education,
particularly the Russian-Armenian University and six branch campuses
of Russian higher schools where over 2,000 students study. -0-
