USAID WILL CONSULT ARMENIA ON AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVES

YEREVAN. - Armenian Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan on Friday
received the delegation of Armenian USAID office headed by Mission
Director Karen Hilliard.
The Minister thanked the American government for their support provided
to Armenia's agriculture since the independence of the country.
"In particular, the U.S. expressed readiness to provide around $1
million for the agricultural census," the Minister said.
Sergo Karapetyan presented the current state of agriculture and
forthcoming programs and plans.
The USAID Mission Director thanked the Minister for reception,
expressing readiness to hear the proposals to discuss with the USAID
leadership in order to continue joint programs in the future.
The sides shared the views about the future of agricultural
cooperatives. In 2014 USAID will consult Armenia on creation of new
cooperatives.
