Elnur Aslanov: "Due to its aggressive and non-constructive policy,
Armenia is not participating in political or economic projects
implemented in the South Caucasus"
Baku. Mubariz Aslanov - APA. "Azerbaijan's economy constitutes 75%
of the economy of the South Caucasus," Elnur Aslanov, Chief of
the Political Analyses and Information Department of Azerbaijan's
Presidential Administration, said addressing the opening ceremony of
the 2nd congress of the young CIS Orientalists in Baku, APA reports.
Noting that economic, political initiatives in the region are
impossible without Azerbaijan's participation, official of the
Presidential Administration said there are no ethnic, national or
religious problems in Azerbaijan.
"There has always been tolerance in our country. Azerbaijan is a
country, where the representatives of various religions and nations
are living and functioning in the atmosphere of tolerance. Jews,
Christians, Muslims are living in the atmosphere of mutual
understanding. This is our greatest achievement," he said.
Elnur Aslanov said Azerbaijan, as one of the leading states of the
South Caucasus and the world in terms of economy, is taking an active
part in Europe's energy security. "Azerbaijan is a member of all
leading international and regional organizations," he said.
Speaking about Karabakh problem, the department chief said as a result
of Armenia's aggressive policy Nagorno Karabakh and 7 adjacent regions
of Azerbaijan have been under occupation for more than 20 years.
"Karabakh is a historical territory of Azerbaijan. The whole world,
international organizations recognize Nagorno Karabakh Azerbaijan's
as historical territory of Azerbaijan and support solution of the
conflict within Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, inviolability of
its borders. Various international organizations, including UN Security
Council have passed 4 resolutions. Unfortunately, Karabakh conflict
has not been solved due to Armenia's non-constructive position and
ongoing double standards. Due to its aggressive and non-constructive
policy, Armenia is in isolation in the South Caucasus. Armenia is not
participating in political or economic projects implemented in the
South Caucasus. As I have said, its reason is Armenia's aggressive
policy and non-constructive position.
Azerbaijan expects constructive position and rational approach in
the solution of the conflict," he said.
