Two new photo stories were released by the EU Neighbhourhood Info
Centre highlighting the achievements of projects funded by the European
Union in Armenia and Morocco. The videos spotlight changes brought
in Transport field.
The first photo story "Morocco - Roads of hope" is telling about a road
in the mountain hemming in Tislit, which was rebuilt with the help
of the Neighbourhood Investment Facility (NIF).Before this, villages
inhabitants had almost no access to medical centres or schools, because
of bad infrastructure. The new road gave them access to services and
hope for a better life. NIF is a financial mechanism that aims, amongst
other things, to reduce disparities between rural and urban areas.
The photo story is based on a feature article published by the Info
Centre. It was put together using photos taken for the Info Centre,
illustrating the activities of the project, with music and background
information. The photos are also available in a special Photo gallery
on the EU Neighbourhood Info Centre website.
The second photo story "Armenia - the better the metro system,
the happier the citizens" tells about the Armenia metro system,
which had no rehabilitation for over 30 years. The video shows the
results of the Yerevan Metro Rehabilitation Project co-financed by
the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European
Investment Bank and the EU Neighbourhood Investment Facility. The
project not only upgraded the metro system, but also improved the
quality of life for Yerevan city residents by encouraging greater
use of public transport and reducing vehicle emissions.
The video was put together using a feature and aPhoto gallery produced
earlier by the EU Neighbourhood Info Centre.
Both video clips can be watched on the EU Neighbourhood Info Centre's
video channel. (EU Neighbourhood Info)
