Armenian Communist leader steps down
15:48 - 23.11.13
The Armenian Communist Party accepted at its plenary session on
Saturday the resignation of its long-time leader.
Ruben Tovmasyan, who was the party's first secretary in the past 13
years, confirmed the report to Tert.am, saying that his bid quitting
office had met objections by the communist members at the meeting.
`It isn't good for me to say they unanimously wanted to reject and
prevent me from stepping down, but my resignation was accepted and I
was dismissed,' he said.
