Support the Victims of the Philippines Typhoon
(Glendale, CA, November 20, 2013) - The Armenian Relief Society of Western
USA urges our members and supporters to take part in ARS humanitarian relief
efforts in the aftermath of the typhoon in the Philippines.
Approximately 1.4 million people in the Philippines are in dire need of
emergency assistance. At least 500,000 people are homeless and in need of
food and water.
As Thanksgiving Day approaches, we are confident that our chapters and the
Armenian communities will collectively respond to this humanitarian appeal
and raise funds in the name of the ARS family. Our hearts and prayers remain
with those who lost loved ones, and are struggling to survive. We trust that
you will respond to our call to action.
Donations may be made to the ARS Philippine Relief Fund by check, credit
card, PayPal, or by visiting our website at www.arswestusa.org. The ARS will
send the donations collected via the American Red Cross.
As an international humanitarian organization, the Armenian Relief Society
has always responded to calls for help for victims of natural disasters,
raising tens of thousands of dollars for disaster relief efforts in the
aftermath of the devastating earthquakes in Haiti and in Mexico, the tsunami
in Japan and others. The regional headquarters may be reached at (818)
500-1343 for additional information.
