    The U.S. Department of State has revealed that the Armenian Finance
    Minister - Davit Sargsyan has landed in the United States on 22nd of
    this month with a high-profile squad to attend the 22nd Edition of
    US Armenia Joint Economic Task Force (USATF) meeting.

    The USATF, an annual bilateral meeting, encourages trade and investment
    involving the two nations.

    The US Department of State has greeted the Armenian delegation
    comprising Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ashot Hovakimian and
    Armenian Ambassador to the United States Tatoul Markarian, under the
    leadership of Sargsyan.

    The two parties have discussed on devices to expand economic
    relationships, boost trade and investment, as well as promote market
    transformations.

    Both the nations have expressed their pleasure over the US firm
    Contour Global s $180 million worth of investment plans for the
    Armenian hydropower industry.

    The planned investment, part of which is likely to be made by the U.S.

    Overseas Private Investment Corporation, reflects the biggest US
    private sector investment in the narration of Armenia. Moreover,
    the investment will be the maiden investment from the United States
    into the vital energy space of Armenia.

    The USATF participants have made discussions on the reciprocal
    initiation of a visa easing procedure aimed at a visa-free system
    for the American travelers and ten-year multiple entry visas for
    the people of Armenia, facilitating augmented trade and investment
    amid the two countries. The US has also supported execution of civil
    aviation liberalization reforms by Armenia.

    The US has emphasized on the selection of Armenia as one of 20 focus
    nations for the Science, Technology, Innovation, and Partnerships
    under the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). This
    scheme has made the two countries to assume a signature endeavor in
    the clean energy and water sectors.

    The Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian
    Affairs Eric Rubin, USAID Assistant Administrator Paige Alexander, and
    Coordinator of Assistance for Europe Daniel Rosenblum were present at
    the 22nd USATF to represent the Government of United States. The event
    was also attended by the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia
