German Ambassador to Armenia Rainer Morel has stated at a
press-conference that the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict
will bring great benefit to Armenia, the region, and the world.
"It is clear that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is the main theme
in the political life of Armenia. Logically, this important issue
affects the lives of young people. I'm positive that the resolution
of the conflict will be of great benefit to your country, region and
will benefit the establishment of peace in the world," news.am quotes
the ambassador.
The diplomat noted that Germany is interested in preventing the
conflict escalation.
"Germany is a member of the OSCE Minsk Group. We fully assist the
efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group. I think the best step to achieve a
peaceful settlement is not to create a new structure, but to promote
the existing one, which is better informed about the situation and
already has experience. We hope that the conflict will be resolved
as soon as possible," Rainer Morel said.
