EU OFFICIAL: EU EXPECTS ARMENIAN PROPOSAL ABOUT FURTHER COOPERATION

European Union will not stop cooperation with Armenia, but Armenia
itself must decide how it presents the further relations with the EU.
Head of the political, economical, press and information department
of the EU delegation Dirk Laurence informed about this "Armenpress"
news agency. According to him the EU waits for Armenian proposal on
the further relations.
"Armenian decision to join the Customs Union was surprise for the EU,
but it's Armenian right to made its own decision. The issue is the
Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement is impossible with the
Customs Union and we have explained it to Armenia. We expect Armenia
itself to present a proposal about Armenia-EU further cooperation. We
also underline that now the EU has less ambitious to cooperate with
Armenia now", he added.
The EU official underlined that it was too early to predict something.
"But we are ready to stand by Armenia and assist it", he underlined.
