    09:40, 3 October, 2013

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 3, ARMENPRESS. Currently there are 1000- 1500
Bezoar Ibexes in Armenia, as to the Armenian mouflons, their
number reaches 250-300. The animals live in extremely isolated and
separated groups. The Ministry of Nature Protection of the Republic
of Armenia informed "Armenpress" about this. Also, the Ministry of
Nature protection of the Republic of Armenia stated that the Bezoar
Ibexes live in the Sevan Mountain Range, Eastern Part of the Geghama
Mountain Range (the Khosrov Forest State Reserve), the mountain chains
of Garni, Urtzi, Vardenis, Vayots Dzor, Zangezur, Bargushat, and the
Meghri Canyon. In addition it was noted that isolated groups of Bezoar
Ibexes were preserved on the Khoustup Mountain, the Vorotan Canyon,
and in the upper parts of the Arpa Valley as well.
