Benefactor and Activist Manas Boujikian
LITTLE ARMENIA-"I have said a thousand times, I am not making
a donation or a grant, but rather an investment... Investment,"
said benefactor and activist Manas Boujikian, firmly stressing that
his generosity is aimed at making an investment in the future and
development of the community.
It was reported earlier that Boujikian and his wife Donalee made
a generous donation of $15,000 to Asbarez on the occasion of the
newspaper's 105th anniversary.
This week, the Boujikians informed Asbarez management and editorial
board that they are increasing their original donation by $5,000 to
a total of $20,000.
The Asbarez editorial board decided to dedicate the digitized version
of Asbarez's 1918 archives to Manas and Donalee Boujikian, knowing
full well that the strengthening of independent Armenia has always
been and will always remain Manas' main objective.
The Asbarez's archive digitization campaign kicked off with the
Boujikians' initial donation, with which the archives of Asbarez's
inaugural year were named after the couple.
