ARMENIA MINISTRY OF ECONOMY TO CONDUCT 'ARENI WINE FESTIVAL 2013'

Armenia Ministry of Economy is set to conduct 'Areni wine festival
2013' starting on 4 October 2013 at Vayots Dzor region, expanding
the fest to Rind, Areni and Eghegnadzor communities of the region.
The ministry will collaborate with the Areni Fest Foundation, Regional
center (Marzpetaran) of Vayots Dzor and many other organizations.
The wine festival is aimed at promoting Vayots Dzor region as an
ideal touristic center in international and domestic tourism market
alongside other communities, as well as to raise the competitiveness
of Armenia's tourism product, preserve and develop of Armenian culture
and traditions, improve proportional regional economic development
of Armenian.
Besides presenting factory produced and homemade wines, souvenirs,
the visitors will be provided with entertainment areas, food pavilions
and cafes.
Also, events such as traditional games, theatrical performances,
show programs will be organized within the festival in different
parts of the village with participants having the opportunity to
visit their church.
The first day of the event will feature a competition of homemade
wine in Rind community, during which different wine-making communities
of Vayots Dzor are expected to present a number of homemade wines to
the judgment of guests and professional jury.
At the end of the day will be chosen best wines and wine-makers will
be awarded prizes from the organizers of festival.
The final event of the festival, Feast of Harvest will be conducted on
6 October at Eghegnadzor, followed by an organized festival-competition
of authorship songs "Egheg".
