YEREVAN. - As a US government employee, US Ambassador to Armenia John
Heffern received instructions to reduce his functions because of the
recent US government shutdown.
Ambassador Heffern noted the abovementioned during ArmTech Congress
`13, which kicked off Friday in capital city Yerevan.
The American diplomat added, however, that his government is
determined to contribute to Armenia's IT sector, and it is interesting
to see the US companies that are operating in Armenia.
On his part, Synopsys Armenia Company CEO Rich Goldman noted that the
ambassador's address, despite the US government shutdown, shows that
he takes the development of Armenia's IT sector very seriously.
