Armenian chess master marries German businessman

    October 5, 2013

YEREVAN. - WGM Lilit Mkrtchian, who plays second board for the
Armenian national women's chess team, married German businessman
    Johannes Sperr.

`My husband was born in Dillingen city; he now lives in Leipzig. He is
a journalist by profession, but now he has set up his own business.

`We started communicating over the Internet, about 2.5 years ago.

`Everything started out between us from chess. Johannes played chess
in his teenage years. In 1984, he became the vice-champion of
    Bavaria's U16 chess players.

`Our interaction started out when he wrote me a letter saying he liked
my chess very much and he wished me success in my tournaments,'
    Mkrtchian told Chess Armenia.
