    PASSENGER TRAFFIC THROUGH ZVARTNOST AIRPORT DECLINES BY 2.6 PERCENT IN NINE MONTHS

    YEREVAN, October 9. / ARKA /. Armenia's international airport Zvartnots
    said it had handled 1,240,418 passengers in the first nine months of
    this year, by 2.6 percent less than in the same time span last year.

    According to a statement posted on the official website of Armenia's
    Chief Civil Aviation Department, the passenger traffic in September
    increased by 15.8 % from July.

    Some 637,828 people were said to have left the country in the first
    9 months, down from 665,239 people in the first 9 months of 2012. And
    602,590 arrived in the country against 608,438 in Jan.-Aug. 2012.

    During the reporting period 3,061 metric tons of goods were imported
    to Armenia through Zvartnots airport, a decline of 22.5% year-on-year
    and 4,545 tons were taken out, a decline of 1%.

    The total number of takeoffs and landings dropped to 6,338 from 7,961
    in the first 9 months of 2012.

    Zvartnots airport is run by Armenia International Airports runs
    Zvartnots airport in accordance with a 30-year concession granted by
    the Armenian government in 2001. The owner of the company is a New
    York-based holding company, in which 100% is owned by Argentinean
    businessman Eduardo Eurnekian. -0-
