President sent a letter of condolences on demise of the President of
EPP Wilfried Martens
Yerevan
The Office of the President Republic of Armenia has issued the
following press release:
President Serzh Sargsyan sent today a letter of condolences the
family, friends and all members of the EPP community on demise of the
President of the European Peoples Party Wilfried Martens. Serzh
Sargsyan expressed support to the Martens family and friends; he
wished tenacity and resilience to the members of the EPP.
`Wilfried Martens made remarkable contribution to the greatest of the
European political families - European Peoples Party in its
foundation, maturing and numerous achievements.
We highly value Wilfried Marten's input and comprehensive assistance
to Armenia's rapprochement with Europe. In particular, notable are Mr.
Martens' consistent efforts in awarding membership to the Republican
Party of Armenia, as well as two other political parties in the
pan-European and highly popular EPP.
Memory of the political figure Wilfried Martens, who was Armenia's and
the Armenian people's dear friend, will always remain in our hearts,'
reads the letter of condolences of the RA President.
