APPATURAY APPRECIATES PARTICIPATION OF ARMENIAN PEACEKEEPERS IN MISSIONS IN AFGHANISTAN AND KOSOVO

YEREVAN, October 18. /ARKA/. Special representative of NATO Secretary
General in South Caucasus and Central Asia James Appaturay highly
appreciated participation of Armenia in peacekeeping missions in
Afghanistan and Kosovo, press office of Armenian president reported
after the meeting of Appaturay with Serzh Sargsyan Thursday.

The sides appreciated also effective cooperation between Armenia and
    the NATO in all fields.

Sargsyan and Appaturay agreed there is consistent political dialogue
    between Armenia and the Alliance.

The sides said the current level of the relations prove there is
a full-of-content agenda developed in close cooperation that helps
Armenia improve and modernize its security and defense.

Armenia is cooperating with the NATO under an Individual Partnership
Action Plan (IPAP) signed in December 2005 and envisaging regular
consultations with the NATO on regional security, development of a
regional security strategy and military doctrine of Armenia, as well
as improving defense and budget planning and other processes. -0--
