Heritage parliamentary group member Zaruhi Postanjyan is now moving
about the city, accompanied by policemen.
"Armenia's police stated readiness to ensure my family's security,"
Mrs Postanjyan told journalists on Thursday.
She also applied to Armenian Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan for
taking measures against the four members of the Republican Party
of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group that threatened her - Galust
Sahakyan, Arakel Movsisyan, Karen Avagyan and Mher Sedrakyan.
"It is Armenian law-enforcement agencies' duty to respond and isolate
the persons in question," she said.
It is also the parliament speaker's duty to ensure her security in
Parliament as well, Mrs Postanjyan added.
"We all know well Galust Sahakyan hurled public insults. We all know
Arakel Movsisyan's behavior. We know about the criminal elements
in the Republican Party of Armenia. I do not feel embarrassed about
saying it," she said.
Mrs Postanjyan said she is not the only person facing such problems.
Anyone publicly voicing his or her opinion will certainly face
similar problems.
The parliament speaker's statement on removal of Mrs Postanjyan
from the Armenian delegation to PACE has not been followed by any
practical steps.
"I am not informed of any official process," she said.
