ARGENTINA UNDERSCORES AGRICULTURAL COOPERATION WITH ARMENIA - OFFICIAL

    October 18, 2013 | 10:59

YEREVAN. - Argentina attaches great importance to cooperation with
Armenia in the domain of agriculture, and proposes to develop a
    work program.

Beatriz Paglieri, Secretary of Exterior Commerce of the Ministry of
Economy and Public Finance of Argentina, noted the aforesaid Thursday
during her meeting with Armenian Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan.

The interlocutors outlined the new avenues for mutually beneficial
cooperation. Karapetyan, in particular, noted that the agriculture
ministers of both countries have signed a cooperation agreement.

The minister added that Armenia has clear standards for food safety,
and it does not import genetically modified food.

"We proudly say the name of our Argentine-Armenian compatriot [and
businessman] Eduardo Eurnekian, who implements large-scale projects
and can serve as a bridge between the Armenian-Argentine friendship
    and cooperation," Karapetyan also stated.

At the end of the talk, Paglieri invited the Armenian minister
to Argentina on a working visit. Sergo Karapetyan thanked for the
invitation and in turn invited the Argentine official to Armenian
capital city Yerevan's annual three-day ArmProd EXPO trade fair-where
Armenia's leading food industry companies display their products-which
this year kicks off on Friday.
