ARMENIAN NA SPEAKER PROPOSES ALTERNATIVE METHOD OF FORMING ARMENIAN DELEGATIONS

Armenian Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan chaired a meeting
on Tuesday, which discussed a new procedure of forming Armenian
degelations to different parliamentary assemblies.
The heads of the parliamentary groups participated in the meeting.
Speaker Abrahamyan proposed an alternative principle of forming
the delegations.
Head of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Zurabyan told
Tert.am that the Rule of Procedure of Armenian Parliament regulates
formation of Armenian delegations.
"A written procedure has been proposed, and we have made our remarks.
We placed emphasis on ruling out any possibility of biased approach
to formation of delegations on the part of authorities or parliament
speaker," he said.
Head of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARF-D)
parliamentary group Armen Rustamyan said: "We are discussing. It is
a major package. The parliament speaker is supposed to establish the
procedure. Numerous proposals have been made."
Head of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group
Galust Sahakyan joined the discussions during the latter half of
the meeting. The D'Hondt method of forming delegations was proposed
as well.
Heritage parliamentary group member Zaruhi Postanjyan said that the
group discussed the new procedure.
