October 24, 2013 | 12:11
YEREVAN. - The Russian Border Service Lieutenant General Vlasov's
explanation, in connection with the incident that occurred with
Heritage Party MP Zaruhi Postanjyan on the Meghri-Yerevan road,
bespeaks either premeditation, or improper management.
Armenia's opposition Heritage Party National Assembly (NA) Faction
leader Zaruhi Postanjyan noted the aforesaid during a press conference
on Thursday.
She added that the Russian border troops had responded to the letter
by NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan.
In Postanjyan's words, the response states that at the time a function
was carried out to impede a person's right to movement.
"They substantiated the obstruction by allegedly carrying out an
operative inspection. [But] we have the agreement between Armenia and
Russia pursuant to which, if such functions should be implemented,
they should be done in conjunction with the Armenian law enforcement
agencies, [and] in accordance with the Criminal and the Criminal
Procedure Codes of Armenia," Zaruhi Postanjyan stressed.
