The main suspect behind the murder of the Armenian journalist Hrant
Dink in Istanbul in 2007 has been caught. Dink, the editor-in-chief
of Armenian-Turkish newspaper Agos, was shot dead in in Istanbul on
19 January 2007.
Erhan Tuncel, the main suspect behind the murder of Turkish-Armenian
journalist Hrant Dink, has been caught in Istanbul's Kumburgaz
district. He is said to have been hiding in a villa.
This development comes after he spent 38 days on the run from the
Turkish authorities. Tuncel had previously said he would surrender
in 15 days, in an interview that was released by the Star newspaper
on Wednesday.
He was an informant in the north-eastern city of Trabzon before
Dink's murder.
