RUSSIA IS ARMENIA'S STRATEGIC PARTNER
The Messenger, Georgia

By Messenger Staff Tuesday, October 29 Armenia plans to continue
cooperation with European structures and is not going to give up its
participation in the Customs Union. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran
Sargsyan stated in Brussels that Armenia, which is under a blockade
from an "unfriendly neighbor" (Azerbaijan), cannot afford revising its
strategic partnership with the Russian Federation and thus risk the
security of the state because Armenia's safety system is dependent on
Russia. The Armenian PM thinks that to deepen relations with the EU
on the one hand and joining the Customs Union on the other, is not
excluded, and Armenia could benefit from both these directions.
