KAMO AREYAN: PUBLIC TRANSPORT FARE RISE IS INEVITABLE

The public transport fare rise in Yerevan is inevitable, Vice Mayor
of Yerevan Kamo Areyan told the media on Tuesday.
He did not specify when and how much the transport fare will rise
but pointed out that the Commission set up to settle the problem will
finish its work in a month. Areyan also promised that the quality of
public transport services will considerably grow after the rise in
the transport fare.
To recall, on July 20 the Municipality of Yerevan announced a 50%
rise in the public transport fare in Yerevan, however, the given
decision was suspended following wide-scale protests.
