MOBILIZATION TO SAVE ARCHITECTURAL MONUMENT IN YEREVAN
Already 30 citizens have stated ready to enroll for "patrol" organized
with a view to hindering illegal construction in the Covered Market
of Yerevan, the initiating group of Liberate Monument from Oligarch
Public Movement informs. Another ten have joined them:
Karine Danielyan, ecologist;
Hasmik Ter-Karapetyan, actress;
Norik Galstyan, associate professor of mathematics;
Levon Khechoyan, writer,
Levon Abrahamyan, ethnographer;
Barsegh Tumanyan, opera singer;
Hovhannes Azoyan, comedian;
Armen Poghosyan, chairman of the Union of Consumers;
Avetik Ishkhanyan, human rights activist;
Anahit Manasyan, economist.
Earlier the movement was joined by Gagik Ginosyan, lawyer Garo
Yegnugian, singer Arthur Ispiryan, conductor Vardan Hakobyan,
writer Vahram Martirosyan, environmental activist Yeghia Nersisyan,
system analyst Garegin Chugaszyan, architect Marine Parazyan, the
editor-in-chief of the Ararat Magazine Alain Simonyan and Architect
Sashur Kalashyan.
