Four factions of the National Assembly - Armenian National Congress
(HAK), Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), Heritage, and ARFD factions -
took a decision prior to the recess that they would start the autumn
session of the parliament with joint political initiatives aimed at
making parliamentary life more active, 'Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun'
writes.
According to the newspaper, the matter concerns initiatives which
will cause serious concern of the Armenian authorities. Yet the act of
'initialing' by the factions cannot be held now for the simple reason
that ARF-Dashnaktsutyun has gone underground.
"All the faction have discussed the initiative and reached an
agreement, whereas ARFD keeps silent in a strange way. Although a few
months ago ARFD verbally expressed willingness to join the initiative,
it currently expresses neither a positive nor a negative assessment",
the paper notes.
"The inexplicable conduct of ARFD can be explained by the
changes expected in the party. There are all the signs that ARFD
representatives will not only accept diplomatic posts, but also start
'coalition' cooperation with the Republican Party of Armenia," the
paper writes.
