Once a political decision on Armenia's accession to the
Belarusian-Kazakh-Russian Customs Union has been made, technical
procedures are being started to complete this process, Russian Foreign
Minister Sergei Lavrov said late on Tuesday.
"Procedures existing in the Customs Union are taking effect, which
include an address to the leaderships of the three states that
founded the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Commission,"
Lavrov told journalists following negotiations between the Russian
and Armenian presidents in Moscow on Tuesday, according to Russian
press agency Interfax.
"This is already a subject of negotiations, and it is quite technical,"
he said.
"The political decision has been made in both Armenia and Russia. I
hope it will be supported by all Customs Union members," Lavrov said.
Kazakhstan, at the level of its economic integration minister,
has already backed Armenia's decision to join the Customs Union,
