SECRETARY OF SECURITY COUNCIL: YEREVAN HOPES FOR THE RUSSIAN PARTY TO CO-FINANCE CONSTRUCTION OF THE ARMENIAN SECTOR OF IRAN-ARMENIA RAILWAY

Armenia hopes that the Russian party will co-finance construction of
the Armenian sector of Iran-Armenia railway, Secretary of Armenia's
National Security Council, Artur Bagdasaryan, said in an interview with
"Armenia" TV channel.
He said that the Iranian party is interested in construction of the
Iran-Armenia railway and is ready to co-finance the building of the
Iranian sector of the railway. Saying that Armenia has to finance
construction of the Armenian sector of the railway, Bagdasaryan said
that there is a point in the statement signed during President of
Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan's visit to Moscow, which supposes making
investments in the railway sector.
To recall, on 3 September during the meeting with President of Armenia
Serzh Sargsyan, President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that Russian
Railway is ready to invest 15 billion rubles in development of the
railway net of Armenia.
