HAYKAKAN ZHAMANAK: ARMENIAN POLICE SPEND OVER $3,500 ON MOBILE PHONES, MEDALS
The paper says it has learned from sources that the Armenian Police
have recently directed an equivalent of 3,630 US Dollars (1.5m Armenian
Drams) to the purchase of medals and mobile phones.
Anubakh Hambaryan, a deputy chief of the police, is said to have signed
an AMD 11,40,000 (approx. $2,800) worth contract with the company
Gnemon (which operates the Yerevan Jewelry Plant) for the current year.
In addition, says the paper, the Police have an AMD 4.2 million (over
$1,000) worth contract with the mobile operator Orange Armenia. With
the money, they reportedly intend to buy 41 pre-paid numbers for
employees.
