ARMENIAN JUSTICE MINISTRY STAFF BEAT AND INSULT CITIZEN: AUDIO RECORDING

Arman Gasparyan, 32, appealed to the Human Rights Defender of Armenia
[AM], claiming that RA Ministry of Justice employees beat and cursed
at him. He provided an audio recording that, according to him, proves
his claim.
On March 24, at around 1 pm, Gasparyan says that he drove his friend
to the Ministry of Justice's division on alternative sentencing. After
admitting his friend, ministry staff called him to a room where there
were 4-5 men in uniform and who used force against him.
In relation to this case, the Ombudsman contacted the Special
Investigation Service and the Ministry of Justice, petitioning to
adopt appropriate measures and inform him of the results.
With Arman Gasparyan's consent, the Ombudsman uploaded the audio
recording.
