    Armenia doubles silver reserves in 2013

    YEREVAN. April 11

    Armenia's State Precious Metals and Gemstones Repository doubled
    silver reserves to 2.692 kilograms last year, the Finance Ministry
    said.

    Gold reserves were unchanged at 14.288 kg.

    The repository also held 75.103 kg in gold items, up 11% during 2013,
    and 60 kg in silver items, up 7%.

    It received 2.619 kg of platinum and 23 grams of palladium last year.

    The repository's precious metals, gemstones and items made from them
    were valued at 1.45 billion dram at the beginning of this year (415.66
    dram/$1 on April 11).

    The repository also held 102.7 kg of pearl at the start of the year.

    The repository's reserves had grown to 1.86 billion dram at the end of
    January and the Finance Ministry said at the time that it had no plans
    to sell any of them this year.
