    BASKIN-ROBBINS OPENS FIRST ICE CREAM SHOP IN ARMENIA

    YEREVAN, April 14. / ARKA /. Baskin-Robbins, the world's largest
    chain of ice cream specialty shops, has opened its first shop in
    Armenia at Yerevan Mall, the company said in a press release.

    The company is known for its "31 flavors" slogan, with the idea that a
    customer could have a different flavor every day of any month. Today
    it owes and runs 7000 ice shops in 52 countries around the world,
    including 327 in Russia and some former Soviet republics.

    "The opening of the first shop in Armenia is an important event. We
    have Baskin Robbins shops successfully working in Kazakhstan, Ukraine,
    and Latvia. Last year we opened a shop in Moldova and plan to open
    more in Belarus and Estonia,Â" Agnessa Osipova, Baskin Robbins Soviet
    International, said today.

    The visitors of the company's shop in Yerevan are offered the products
    of its Moscow factory that produces more than 150 varieties of premium
    ice cream, desserts, smoothies, sorbets , sherbets , sugar-free ice
    creams and exclusive handmade ice-cream cakes .

    The first joint venture of the company in Russia -Baskin Robbins
    Soviet International - was registered in 1990. In 1996 it opened in
    Moscow the largest factory for the production of world-class premium
    ice cream in Europe. -0-
