ERDOÄ?AN'S STATEMENT RELIEVES, ARMENIANS GRIEVE

ISTANBUL ' Armenians Archbishop in Turkey, Aram AteÅ?yan, supported
Prime Minister Tayyip ErdoÄ?an's condolences to 1915 on Thursday
describing it 'exiting' and 'historical' move.
"The Prime Minister's speech and attitude relieved the Armenians
grieves", AteÅ?yan said "This statement is a true response to those who
are against Turkey's peace process" he added as appreciation on behalf
of himself and the Patriarchate.
"I'm sure the statement is important step to build up new friendship
bridges in the future," AteÅ?yan stated.
The Archbishop said it's the first time for a high ranking government
official to make a similar statement in Turkey.
Statement may moderate Armenian diaspora's stance
Dikran Gülmezgil, head of the foundation of Armenian community
Karagözyan said "Mr. Prime Minister's attitude to Armenian citizens
was quite positive and his latest statement satisfied us, God bless
Turkish PM."
Gülmezgil added that the statement will positively affect 1915 process
and it may moderate diaspora's negative stance.
