AZERBAIJAN'S PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV THREATENS MILITARY ACTION AGAINST ARMENIA ON TWITTER

Azerbaijan's president, Ilham Aliyev, took to Twitter to condemn
Armenian forces after dozens were killed in a deadly clash in
Nagorno-Karabakh, a mountainous area that is claimed by both nations.

Aliyev's series of impassioned tweets stated that "military means"
are a possibility when it comes to restoring the country's territorial
    claims over the disputed area.

In the wake of the violence, the Azerbaijani president spent several
tweets talking up the military capabilities of the country.

According to a report by The Guardian, the Nagorno-Karabakh territory
is recognized under international law as belonging to Azerbaijan,
though it is home to a predominately Armenian population and has been
a point of contention between the two countries for two decades.

A spate of violence that began last weekend left at least 14 people
dead -- the worst conflict in the area in recent history. Both
sides blame the other for prompting the clashes, while details of
the altercation still remain unclear. Armenia's defense minister,
Seyran Ohanyan, told journalists earlier this week that the "whole
responsibility for escalation of the situation and human losses is
    on official Baku [Azerbaijan's capital]."
