Putin will try to reconcile Armenian, Azerbaijani leaders- Russian media

As the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents are preparing to meet in
Sochi, Russia, later today for a new round of talks over
Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian Komsomolskaya Pravda has provided its
comments on the expected outcomes.
"Russia has been long acting as a mediator between the two countries
whose relations continue to remain tense for over 20 years," writes
the publication.
"With almost no direct dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the
conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh may enter a heated period at any
moment," it says.
The paper notes that the repeated ceasefire violations in the border
zones between the two countries claim lives of soldiers on both sides.
The author of the report expresses belief that Russian President
Vladimir Putin will try to persuade the conflicting countries' leader
to at least avoid the escalation of a renewed war over the disputed
land.
"And though there are no plans for a trilateral meeting in Sochi,
there are still chances that things may change," comments the paper
The Russia-mediated talks between Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham
Aliyev are set to take place in Mr Putin's residence in the Russian
resort city.
