    Armenia celebrates the two Danish missionaries Yeppe Karen and Maria
    Jcobsen who saved many orphaned survivors of the Armenian Genocide


    Armenian HayPost Post has issued five stamps on July 29 to mark the
    100th anniversary of the commemoration of the Armenian genocide. Of
    these, a set of two stamps dedicated to two Danish missionaries or
    "Danish Mother Armenian orphans" Karen Yeppe (1876-1935) and Maria
    Jacobsen (1882-1960) who devoted part of their lives to rescue and
    care orphaned Armenian genocide survivors. Each of the stamps issued
    in 40,000 copies was worth 200 drams. So on the occasion of the
    centenary of the Armenian Genocide, the Armenian Post is homage to
    these foreign personalities who have dedicated their courage and
    tenacity, saved thousands of lives, survivors of the Armenian nation
    which was submitted by Turkey between 1915 and 1923 the First Genocide
    of the twentieth century.
